FAQs

Who are we?

We are the Iota Gamma (IΓ) Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi at Washington State University. Founded on November 27, 1919, Kappa Kappa Psi is a fraternal organization that promotes the advancement of college and university bands through dedicated service and support; comprehensive education; leadership opportunities; and recognition for the benefit of its members and society.

Is Kappa Kappa Psi a dry fraternity?

Nope! However, alcohol will not be at any Kappa Kappa Psi events unless they are explicitly stated, 21+ events.

I don’t identify as male, can I join?

Yes! We are a co-ed band fraternity, meaning anyone can join, no matter their gender identity.

What do we do?

At WSU, we strive to help the School of Music and the bands in any way that we can. We are most commonly seen hauling equipment for the marching band, setting up chairs for events, hosting refreshments after recitals, and setting up meals during football games for the band. We also do service projects every semester like polishing Sousaphones and organizing the Jazz music library.

How can I join?

Fill out the interest form below! That is the easiest way to show us you are interested. You can also reach out to any of the active brothers.

Can I be a part of traditional Greek life and Kappa Kappa Psi?

Absolutely! The only Greek we are exclusive from is our sister band sorority, Tau Beta Sigma. The two chapters work jointly on projects and share a national headquarters. All other fraternities and sororities are options for rushing.
